FRAILTY IS NOT FOR YOU

It is the year 2035. You are struggling to pick up your little chihuahua, are gasping for air walking up the stairs, are incapable of carrying logs to your fireplace, and are nearly failing to get out of the bathtub having been soaking in warm water.

Welcome to the world of frailty, where any physical task feels like trying to move a mountain, and the inability to function the way you should makes you feel a little embarrassed, if not helpless.

It may well be that you have resigned yourself to this 'normality' - perhaps because the not-so-wise conventional wisdom is still deeply rooted in you that 'this is just how it is' when you get old.

To be honest with you, I don't see anything normal with this kind of reality. And if I may put on a priest collar and preach to you for just a second, then let me tell you: neither should you accept a reality of being frail.

Your body is designed to adapt to new stressors at any stage of life. No matter if you're 25, 65, or 95. Because, after all, being able to adapt is what has allowed humans to survive for thousands of years.

This means that your body can also adapt to an external stimulus in the form of a weight, such as a loaded barbell. Which means nothing else than your body being able to get stronger over time, no matter how hopeless you think the situation is.

But your body actually has to be given the chance to get stronger. Which so far, of course, hasn't happened. Otherwise you wouldn't find yourself stuck on the pot in the year 2035.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with growing old and seeing your physical capacities decline. It's called life, and none of us will get out of this alive anyway. Even if we tried really really hard, it just won't work.

But you have the choice of what you want to do with the last two decades of your life. If you want to resign yourself to being brittle as a twig, and watch your body decay into physical unusability, then it doesn't make you a bad person.

The big question is:

What is it worth to you?

Is it worth to you not having to call your family members every time a midgety weight in your house has to be moved?

Is it worth to you having strong muscles and strong bones which make up a capable body allowing you to get around the house without any problems?

Is it worth to you living your last 20-25 years productively, with a high quality?

I know you're not convinced.

But what if I told you that it only takes 2.5 hours of your time a week to push frailty far far away into some unknown place in the universe?

Would you take it?

Rest assured that at Strong For Life, I teach you exactly this: putting a bar on your back (and in your hands), and off we go. We squat, we pull off the floor or a platform, we bench press, and we press a weight overhead. All adjusted to your level every time you lift - so you can get stronger, and defy the odds of dying early.

You just follow my guidance, and another two decades of a better life are yours.

Over to you.
